   Choose an instructor

   Instructor profiles show the certificate we verified, who they teach — beginners, kids, adults, competitive swimmers — and reviews from people who actually finished a lesson with them.

   Agree the time and the fee

   This is where the free browsing stops: create an account and verify your phone number, then send your lesson request. Your instructor accepts it, or replies with a fee offer you accept first. You see the price before anything is confirmed, and either of you can cancel beforehand.

   Swim, and check in together

   At the pool you and your instructor confirm the lesson happened with a shared check-in code. That is what makes a review possible afterwards — and what stops a lesson nobody attended from counting.

What "lifeguard-certified" actually means here

Anyone can call themselves a swimming teacher. On TuOgelee the phrase has a specific, checkable meaning, because a swim instructor is the person you trust with a child in deep water.

• A current lifeguard certificate. Reviewed by a person before the profile goes live, not just uploaded — and confirmed directly with the issuing organisation wherever we have a channel to them, today the Kenya Lifesaving Federation and YMCA Kenya.
• A verified national ID. Checked before the profile is allowed to go live at all.
• Certificates that expire come down. When a certificate lapses the profile comes off the map until a current one replaces it, so "certified" stays true after the day it was checked.
• Reviews from lessons that really happened. A review can only be written after a completed, checked-in lesson with that instructor.

How do I book a swimming lesson?

Create a free account and verify your phone number, then send a lesson request to an instructor. They can accept it, decline it, or reply with a fee offer that you accept before anything is confirmed. Nothing is booked until you have both agreed.

Who teaches the lessons?

Independent swim instructors, not TuOgelee staff. Before a profile goes live we check the person's national ID and a current lifeguard certificate — every one is reviewed by a person, and where we have a channel to the issuer we confirm it with them directly (today that is the Kenya Lifesaving Federation and YMCA Kenya). If a certificate expires, the profile comes off the map until a current one is uploaded.

What does a swimming lesson cost?

TuOgelee does not set lesson prices. Your instructor proposes a fee for the lesson and you accept it before the booking is confirmed, so you always see the price first. Pool entry may be charged separately by the venue.

How do I pay for a lesson?

You pay your instructor directly. TuOgelee records whether a lesson was paid so both of you have the same history — it does not take or hold the money.

Are there lessons for children and complete beginners?

Instructors list who they teach on their profile — beginners, kids, teens, adults, advanced and competitive swimmers, water safety, special needs and seniors — so you can pick someone who works with your group before you get in touch.

What if I need to cancel?

Either side can cancel a lesson booking before it happens, and both of you are notified. Pools set their own cancellation window for lane reservations, shown on the pool's page.

Can I see reviews of an instructor?

Yes, and a review can only be written by someone who actually completed a lesson with that instructor — reviews are tied to a finished booking, so nobody can rate a person they never swam with.
